Do you think the universe has your back?
I absolutely loved this book on the universe around us
Let me tell you I absolutely loved this book, I read it twice back to back. It doesn’t matter what religion (or not) you practice this book is written to fit into any way you are currently living your life. The power of meditation is strung throughout this book, and after starting to create a meditation practice myself over the last six months, I really do believe there is power in meditation and what it has to offer as a conduit to the universe. Gabby offers up her resources for you to use and walks you through guided meditations that are beautifully sprinkled throughout this book.
I ended up reading it twice
So why did I end up reading it twice? Well, I think part of it was there was almost a month gap from when I started it the first time, made it about halfway, and picked it up again to finish. At the end of the first go-around, I still felt lost, anxious, and a bit overwhelmed with life in general. I just had this overwhelming feeling that I needed to read it again for my mental well-being. So, I did it with no breaks. I committed to reading this book in about a week because I wanted to fully understand what I was reading.
Realign with the universe
Now the base for this book is to help you realign with the universe, to help co-create the life you want to live. She explains that the universe can be whatever you are called to; God, Buddha, spirits, energies, whatever resonates with you use that as your connection, the one thing you can turn to that has your back. Most of her experiences or references are to the book “A Course in Miracles”, I haven’t had the opportunity to read it yet, but after reading this book, I can’t wait to get my hands on it. If you have read it, please let me know what you thought about it in the comments!
This book will make you explore areas of your life and how to work with the universe
This book will make you explore areas of your life that may be uncomfortable or hurtful to revisit. I cried through more than one of the exercises in this book, but coming out on the other side has felt incredible. I’ve realized that I don’t need to feel that I’m doing this all alone and how my actions can cause self-sabotage creating a constant state of anger and frustration. Not the way I want to continue to live my life. Now, I know I have the support of my family and friends, but this is creating a deeper connection with your soul.
Learn to rely on the universe just a bit more
This book helps you learn to rely on the universe just a bit more. Each question series in each chapter, each meditation, and each breathing exercise is designed to get you closer to that higher spiritual or religious connection. The one huge thing that has helped me when I start to feel panicky, angry, or anxious is to learn to lead with love instead of fear, this is the main concept in her book.
Fear, for most, is much easier to live in than love. We just stay in the cycle we’re in. No changes are needed. Leading with love means you have to let your guard down, be vulnerable, be open to receiving messages that may be hard to hear, and come from a place of understanding and acceptance instead of trying to control situations and outcomes.
Meditation and the universe
Meditation is a big part of this book, and there are some great resources to help get you started. The author, Gabby, is certified in kundalini yoga, so her mediations are in line with this method of yoga. This involves more chanting, different hand positions, and intense breathing techniques. She offers up her own experiences and of those around her along her journey to become more connected to the universe. Now, don’t think you have to be this enlightened; never raise your voice person all the time. That we all know is not realistic, and Gabby reminds us that it is natural; we all reach our breaking point now and again.
Her advice is to help get you back to that elevated spiritual place faster when you see you are falling back into leading with fear instead of love. For someone who has to navigate very intense anxiety attacks and racing thoughts daily, it has really helped me see that I don’t have to hold the world up all on my own all the time. Sometimes we need to say out loud that we need help. We need to be shown where we should be headed because, let us face it, we can all get in our own way from time to time.
Take a brief few minutes each day to thank the universe for all you have been given, ask for what you want to receive from a place of love, not greed, and watch the path unfold in front of you. Wishing you all love and light!
